Dyeing yarn with Black Beluga Lentils.

Fingering weight yarn 365m/125g (70% Merino, 20% Kid, 10% Nylon)  & Black Beluga Lentils.

Beluga Black Lentils - soaked in water overnight yield a dark purplish/black water. The colour is washfast and lightfast and needs NO MORDANT and it lasts - a nice milk chocolate brown (when super thick) to a lighter medium brown or light brown when
watered down.

Beluga lentils are a dark black colour that becomes glossy when cooked. In fact, their glossy appearance --- which makes them look similar to beluga caviar --- is what gave them their name.
